Step 1: Choose an AI Ethics Debate Topic

CoT Project Teams will choose an AI ethics debate topic from the list below:

AI Debate Topics

  1. Will dependency on AI tools make people more or less creative?

  2. Should all students be required to take an AI course?

  3. Should students be allowed to use AI in school?

  4. Should students have the right to refuse to be taught or assessed by AI tools?

  5. Should AI-generated content (images or videos) be labeled as AI?

  6. Should people be allowed to make money or sales off of AI music artists?

  7. Should AI be used to surveillance large groups of people without their consent?

  10. Should there be laws in place to govern AI development and use?

Step 2: Organize Into Two Groups

Organize your Project Team into two groups. Group 1  will debate “For” and Group 2 will debate “Against” the selected topic.

Step 3: Research Your Topic

Research the selected topic and strengthen your Group’s position or argument.  Share perspectives, challenge each other, and sharpen your critical thinking skills while exploring AI’s impact on our world!

Step 4: Create a Debate Video

Create a 90-second debate video (landscape 16:9) where each group shares the group’s position on the topic.  Be sure to be creative, speak clearly, and include the following in the video:

  • Project Name

  • Selected Debate Topic

  • “For” or “Against” the selected topic

  • Why the group is taking the position (based on facts and/or perspectives)

  • Offer one positive solution that supports the topic.

  • Specify the video app used to record and/or edit your video.

Step 5: Submit Your 90-sec Videos

For each project team, submit and upload each group’s “For” and “Against” 90 second video on the Digital Ethics Challenge Video Submission Worksheet at: https://www.clubhouseatyourhouse.com/2026week6

One “For” Group and one “Against” Group with the best debate pitch will receive 20 bonus points toward their final project and Debate Champion bragging rights! Good luck!
